Hoppy Endings

Hi Kathy,

Here's a photo of the two lovebirds. Everything is going great. JuneBug is happy to have the whole living room and kitchen to rule over. She's
definitely special and she lets you know it!? She's getting a little more tolerant of being picked up as she gets to know us better (and because she knows she gets a treat after!), but she is still the wriggliest bunny ever and can get out of almost any hold if she wants to. Another funny thing -- if she's really hungry, when we bring their cereal she does a really loud pig snort (different from a grunt). I've never heard anything like it and at first I didn't even realize it was her that made the sound!?

Well--at least one is safe. One shelter'd hare
has never heard the sanguinary yell
of cruel man, exulting in her woes.
Innocent partner of my peaceful home,
Whom ten long years experience of my care
Has made at last familiar; she has lost
Much of her vigilant instinctive dread,
Not needed here, beneath a roof of mine.
Yes--thou may'st eat thy bread, and lick the hand
That feeds thee; thou may frolic on the floor
At evening, and at night retire secure
To thy straw couch, and slumber unalarm'd;
For I have gained the confidence, have pledg'd
All that is human in me to protect
Time unsuspecting gratitude and love.
If I survive thee I will dig thy grave;
And, when I place thee in it, sighing, say,
I knew at least one hare that had a friend.

Hi Kathy,
It was great to speak with you! Here are some pics of our little Lady Emily. She's a real pleasure to be with and we love her very much. She has the run of the house but often chooses to sleep in her 27"X48" cage.
Take Care,
Patrice and Bob

Hi!

Just wanted to let you know that our babies are doing great. They have the run of the living room and each have found the favorite napping spots. Cocoa is still not as social as Carlito but she has improved. They like to play in the back yard and like napping in their rabbit run out under the oak tree. Carlito likes to get up on the furniture and visit. Our dog, Nathan, has adopted them as his babies and tries to clean them. Carlito snuggles with Nathan on his chair or on his dog bed. My granddaughter (9mo) thinks its funny when they hop around.

Thanks for letting us adopt our two new family members. Take care.

Thank you,

Sarah

This is Sammie. She was found in a cardboard box left out in the cold rain. She was terribly sick and hungry and had lost much of her fur due to improper care. You wouldn't know that looking at her today, though! She's gone all herbal new wave on us. She, with her new mom, has visited a pet psychic and receives regular acupuncture treatment at Blitchten Road Animal Hospital that helps with her sometimes sniffly nose. She lives with two other big white bunnies now(this, by the way, makes her mom someone extra special...few people want one big white, let alone a whole family!) and is as happy as a bunny can be!

THESE ARE WHEN AUSTIN WENT IN TO OPEN THE BLINDS AND WAKE THEM UP. SUNNY AND SAPPHIRE WERE LYING TOGETHER AT THAT POINT AND IN ONE PIC YOU CAN SEE TWINKY IN THE ADJOINING CAGE BE THE LOG CABIN. WHEN I WENT TO BED AT ABOUT 4AM THE WERE THREE BUNS IN A ROW.

Dear Kathy:

Thank you so much for helping to bring little Hershey into our lives! He
is truly a special rabbit and Steven and I adore him. We both love
beginning and ending our days visiting and playing with our baby bunny.

You will be happy to know that Hershey has adjusted to our home very
well. He has his own room and all sorts of toys; he especially loves his
straw mat and straw ball. Hershey also enjoys lounging on his favorite
chair and stretching out on the futon in front of the TV. Hershey is
very social and loves climbing on and getting treats from his "people,"
which he accepts with a few approving grunts. Steve and I look forward
to opening the door to his room and watching him run out to us every
time!

Hershey has brought immeasurable joy to our lives. I am so glad that
Gainesville Rabbit Rescue was there in his hour of need and that,
through your efforts, he has come into our lives. Steve and I now highly
recommend rescued rabbits, and your organization in particular, to all
of our friends and family.

Thank you again,

Heather, Steve and Hershey

Thyme is adjusting great to her new home. She has certainly taken a
liking to my daughter Tori. Thyme is already following Tori, eating from her hand, and wanting to be
petted from her. Here are a few pictures and Thanks again.
God Bless,

Mike

Hi guys,

I am enclosing pictures of the bunnies
Christmas. Mr. P is an old hand at the stocking, but Princess B was a little confused.

We adopted Oliver from you guys last May. He is an attention fiend, loves to chew, loves to tear around as fast as possible, and do binkies in the hall.? He loves to get up as high as he can.? He has us trained because if he does not get his morning carrots when we get up, he will throw things around in his cage until he does.? We are sending you a bunch of pictures of him.?As you will see, he is spoiled rotten, and loves his playtime.? Thank you guys for bringing us
this little bundle of joy.

Love comes in all shapes and sizes! Just one week after coming into rescue, Bertha was adopted by handsome little Edgar. As you can see above, the pair is inseparable. Bertha is so lucky, as so many people overlook how wonderful big bunnies can be. Fortunately, Edgar's family paid close attention to who their little guy liked and now it is a match made in heaven for all.
